In 2002, Gene and Diane Cowell purchased Bubba' s in Fountain, MI. Having been born in nearby Custer, Gene spent 30+ years working for General Motors, having spent time in Wyoming,MI, Janesville, WI, and lastly Flint, MI. Just prior to aquiring Bubba's, a very close family friend succumbed to sudden heart failure. His name was Jack Delaney.

It is our hope that the spirit of Jack will live on by continuing his legacy. Namely, celebrating family, friends, good drink, and great food.  Our goal is to provide the best in cleanliness, service, and quality.  If we succeed, please tell others.  If we fail, please tell us.
In loving memory to "Jack Clayton Delaney"
Thank you,
Gene and Diane

potato Potato Run
Every 2nd saturday in October, participants gather at ford lake, east of Delaney's.  They prepare to make the 3 mile trip to fountain along the old snowmobile trail. Their mode of transportation?  Lawn Mowers.  That's right, people spend the entire year creating the wackiest and craziest machines imaginable for the trip, from machines representing their favorite sports teams, to wheelie machines, to flame throwing machines!  The 80+ lawn mowers parade the 3 mile trip to Delaney's for lunch and then, in a parade of laughs, return to ford lake.  Each participant donates $10, and the proceeds are given to a local charity.

To participate, call 231-462-3636 for details.

derby Kentucky Derby Party
Join us on the first saturday in may for our annual kentucky derby party.  We use only official kentucky derby products, from the bourbon we use, to the glasses we serve our mint juleps in.  That's right, at delaneys you will get the same exact mint julep, in the same glass (you keep), using the same bourbon, as you would get at churchill downs! Join us from 1 till race time for our own horse races, prizes, and our wacky hat contest! (judged men and women) bring a friend and be ready to party.
